SESHOME PROJECT SUMMARY

The project goal is; “Supporting homeschooling students with disabilities between 6-10 ages through researches, need analyses and training programmes”.

The Target:

  1. Training children with disabilities by creating innovative training modules and using ICT materials,

  2. Increasing competencies of teachers by training them in methodological topics,

  3. Turning homes into schools and carrying education into families

  4. Training non-disabled children  in order to raise awareness

  5. Creating innovative online learning resources for students, teachers and families.

Target Groups

  • 6-10 ages students with disabilities at Primary schools

  • Teachers and Families of students with disabilities

  • Non-disabled students at primary schools

 

PROJECT OUTPUTS:

  1. Need Analysis

Within the questionnaires and interviews, there will be questions which aims to learn current situation, needs, demands and expectations of disabled children, their teachers and parents.

Questions about economic, social and psychological circumstances of these children and their parents, regulations in that country on disability rights and expectations of these people about additional facilities, educational issues and what they need and demand for better implementation of homeschooling.

  1. Education Modules

Educational Modules will exclusively focus on the educational needs of the disabled children and their parents and educators.

These modules will be based on and prepared in agreement with the results and propositions recommended in the questionnaires’ reports and the syllables of the courses and regulations set forth by the local and national educational authorities.

Educational modules will be the most prominent intellectual output of SESHOME.

They aim to remove the gap between students at homeschooling and other students in mainstream schooling.

  1. Online Learning Platform

Online Interaction and Learning Platform will serve as a supportive online material of e-learning that will bring together the students with disabilities and their families with the experts of the special education in an interactive way

Enable them to have access to a large variety of training resources and contents of lessons in the syllabus of the primary school.

  1. IT Materials

IT materials containing all types of audio, visual and textual information.

Resources concerning the educational syllabuses of disabled students uploaded and embedded into the Interactive Online Learning Platform.

Students with disabilities, teachers and their families will be supported with the database

Families, educators and special education experts will interact

  1. Academic Essay

An academic essay (or maybe more)

  • broad literature analysis recognize the problems in the area and recommend solutions

  • bring a comprehensive perspective to the education of homeschooling children.

Academic paper is expected to analyse regulations, practices and current status in partner countries and EU.

Academic paper then will be translated into partner country languages and will be published in a book.

  1. Testing and Analysing Study

Comprehensive research about homeschooling practices in partner countries, the EU and the world.

Research will include anything about homeschooling. It will also include homeschooling practices for non-disabled children.

Shortages, advantages, disadvantages, psychological, social and economic effects and educational aspects about homeschooling practices will be involved in this study.

  1. Implementation of Education Modules-

Partners will implement training modules in their home countries to a sufficient number of home-schooled children.

They will also introduce those students to online learning platform and IT materials.

A final document which summarizes what has been done in all partner countries about implementation

  1. Dissemination and Valorisation Materials

Contains all kinds of materials that helps project dissemination and sustainability.

Project dissemination activities will be in parallel to dissemination plan,

Partners will make news of project activities, outputs, online learning platforms to newspapers or TV channels.

They will also contribute to dissemination by their workshops and seminars.
